Monaghan Comhairle na nOg PPN Consultation

On March 4^th the Monaghan Comhairle na nOg attended a consultation by the Public Participation Network and helped in the development of the Community Wellbeing Vison for Co. Monaghan.

The group engaged in a number of different topics and themes which included:

• Health (physical and mental)
• Economy and Resources
• Social and Community development
• Participation, Democracy and Good Governance
• Values culture and meaning
• Environment and sustainability

The young people discussed the different themes with people from the community. They recognised some of the following; inadequate mental health services for young people within Co. Monaghan, keeping events such as the GAA ulster final in Clones and the lack of transports/bus services in South Monaghan. They also identified facilities within their own communities that are available such as: youth clubs, libraries and sport facilities.

Monaghan Comhairle had a very enjoyable evening and were delighted to be able to give a young person perceptive to the consultation.
